These stronger mummies look and function similarly to Radament. And, make sure to watch out for poison that comes off of the mummies when they die. You want to take these out quickly so that the mummies don’t overwhelm you. One of these is the Sarcophagi which spawns Decayed mummies. Inside the dungeon, you’ll encounter a few new monsters. Grabbing the Waypoint before heading into the dungeon can cut down your running around time dramatically, so it’s worth searching it out. Again, top up those resistances so that you can stay alive.Īs you wander the area, you want to look for both the area’s Waypoint and the entrance to the Halls of the Dead. These function similarly to Rakinshu from Act 1 in that they shoot out lightning when struck. Here, you’ll run into the same enemies as well as Scarab Demons. Simply stick to the edges of the map until you find a pass in the rocks that takes you to the next location. That said, you should be able to make your way through this area to the Dry Hills fairly easily. It should be noted though that Scavengers can fly for a short time during which they’re invulnerable, while Leapers can be tough to hit because they frequently jump over your character and dart around the screen. For the most part, these won’t be much of a challenge for you unless you let yourself get overwhelmed by numbers. Out here, you’ll run into Saber Cats, Spear Cats, Undead Scavengers, and Cave Leapers. First up, you need to head out into the Rocky Waste that’s found just beyond Lut Gholein’s gates. This particular quest asks you to find three different items, all in different areas around the map. Then, open the golden chest to get another scroll that starts the next quest. Make sure to use it right away so that it doesn’t take up space in your inventory. When Radament is down, he’ll drop a scroll that gives you a skill point. Don’t be afraid to pop back to town if things get hairy. Be warned that, even without his minions, he can still be tough because of how much poison damage he can put out. Once it’s more manageable, head and in and take him down. Use that same tactic to bait his minions away from him to thin out the horde. Similarly, Radament is made difficult by the massive horde he spawns with. This lets you deal with them more easily before mopping up the ranged attackers. One tactic to take is to pull the melee enemies away from their ranged friends. If your fire resistance is low, they can reduce your health pool quickly. This is complicated even more by the Skeleton Archers who use fire arrows. Just like the Underground Passage in Act 1, you can easily become overwhelmed by the hordes of enemies. This area is another place where the difficulty comes from how compact the map is. There is a Waypoint on the second level, but you probably won’t be coming back down here, so there’s no real reason to search it out unless you just happen upon it. Our best advice for quickly making your way down is to hug the outside walls and follow them until you find the staircase down. The Sewers has three levels to it, with Radament, your target, residing on the final level. Heading down will start this quest without needing to talk to the quest giver Anya in town, though, feel free to speak with her if you’d like. Click on it to open up the Sewers of Lut Gholein. Right next to Griez, you’ll notice a closed door. Use what you have, but try to keep your resistances in mind. That said, if this is your first time through the game, you don’t need to worry too much about gear at this stage. Keeping those high with your gear can really help you out. Several of the enemies you’ll start to see in this act can hit hard if your resistances are low. Many players like using the Combat Hireling due to his Prayer aura, but the Defensive Hireling can also work wonders with his Defiance aura.Īs far as general tactics, we definitely recommend trying to max out your resistances to the best of your ability. Plus, they come with Paladin auras to help keep you alive. Desert mercenaries are melee-oriented, but they generally deal more damage and can better serve as a tank. He sells new mercenaries and it’s worth upgrading from the Rogue you picked up in Act 1. Before heading out, we recommend first going to talk to Griez in the top right-hand corner of the town.
